On June 13, 2013, shortly after a severe thunderstorm moved through the area, Vineland units Eng. 22, Eng 61, Ladder 2, Tower 6 and Vineland EMS Sq. 6 were dispatched to 201 E. Elmer Rd. for a reported dwelling. Units arrived with heavy fire showing from the attic area. Command requested the 2nd alarm struck bringing units Eng. 11, Ladder 4, Rescue 1, Engine 54, as well as Millville Engine 30 and Rosenhayn Engine. 29-01. Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire as ladder crews opened the roof. Engine 30 and 2901 were recalled. Malaga Sta. 43-4 covered sta. 2. The fire is under investigation but is believed to be caused by a lightning strike. Vineland PD and Cumberland County FP also assisted at the scene.
